Why call a saddle fitter?

  • Finding suitable equipment when buying a new horse

  • Check the suitability of existing equipment

  • Morphological changes in the horse (typically after time off work, new environment, increase in work load, growth, etc.)

  • Decreased performance when ridden (refusing to jump or knocking more poles, getting lower dressage scores, becomes disunited in canter)

  • Injury around the withers or girth area

  • Horse ‘misbehaves’ when being tacked up or when being mounted

  • Acute or recurrent back pain for the horse and/or rider

  • Your vet, physiotherapist or osteopath think that the saddle could be part of the cause in a drop in performance or lameness of your horse

  • Rider discomfort in the saddle

  • Saddle presenting an anomaly (squeaking, folds, etc.)

  • You want a new saddle!

A saddle does not need to be new or expensive, it just needs to fit. I can help find a second-hand saddle if your budget does not allow you to buy a brand-new saddle.
