What happens during a consultation?

A consultation lasts on average 1.5 to 2 hours, and it will be necessary to ride your horse (except for young horses being broken in or other specific requests). A flat and sheltered place is required for the consultation, a closed and secure work space for the mounted test and a ready, clean horse, with its equipment nearby, on my arrival.

  1. We begin the session by discussing your needs and your horse’s health.

  2. I will palpate your horse's body in order to identify possible pathologies and/or sensitivities. This is when I take the measurements of your horse (back measurements and height).

  3. I will examine your material. I will then ask you to put the saddle and accessories on your horse “as usual”. This allows me to see if the sizes and shapes are correct for your horse's body shape. Then comes the dynamic part of the consultation. I watch you exercise your horse in walk, trot and canter. I can then identify your riding style, if your equipment is adequate of your horse, but also the impact of your equipment on the attitude of your horse.

  4. Next comes the adaptation and adjustment of existing equipment and/or the testing of new combinations (saddles/straps/numnahs) according to needs. All the previous steps allow me to direct my choices towards equipment that will suit the morphology of your horse and your riding style.

  5. For each new change, I take the time to listen to your feelings, your sensations, what you appreciated or not with this new combination. This step is crucial; it allows me to advise you as best as possible according to your preferences and those of your horse. Once the ideal combination is found for you and your horse, the consultation is complete.

  6. I will send you a report of the consultation at the end of the visit. You will be able to find the information discussed during the session.

Your horse evolves throughout its life! It is important that you have regular monitoring to adapt your equipment to the morphology of your horse.

It is strongly recommended to set up a MINIMUM annual visit!
